"While on a yoga retreat in Peru, Brian Mahan, Enlightened Concierge's CEO, discovered something as impressive as Machu Pichu itself, Mama Kia, an amazing woman with an inspirational story.
Not only has American emigrant Mama Kia adopted (now 31) children off the streets of Peru, but she has also established a soup kitchen, Sopa de Dia, which feeds 88 children and elderly twice each day.
The kitchen teaches local school children sustainable organic farming techniques and involves them in serving less fortunate children and elders.
Without hesitation, Enlightened Concierge donated the seed money to start a second soup kitchen, Sopa del Esperanza (Soup of Hope) and pledged to keep it operational. Now, when their clients avail themselves to any of their health and luxury services, children are being fed and are taught how to better care for themselves, their families, and their community. "
